If you are in Northern Europe and your winters regularly go below -10°C, the Winter Edition is the right choice. If you want one boot for all seasons including summer hiking, the standard M77 is more versatile.

Fit and sizing

Runs large — size down one full EU size. The fur lining takes up slightly more interior volume than the Cambrelle version, making the sizing difference from the standard M77 more noticeable. If you already own M77 boots in a given size, try the Winter Edition one size down. If you are wearing thick socks inside, order your normal size.

Frequently asked questions

How much warmer are these than the standard M77? Noticeably warmer in static conditions — standing, slow walking, exposure to cold. The fur traps heat well. In high-output activity like hiking where you are generating body heat, the difference is less significant. These are winter duty boots, not hiking boots.

Can I wear these in rain and slush? Yes. The leather upper is water-repellent, the same spec as the original. The fur lining dries slowly if it gets wet — in wet-cold conditions rather than dry-cold, the standard M77 or the Waterproof Military Boots may serve better.

Are these surplus or current production? Current production from Samelin, Estonia. Not surplus.

Do these work with M77 Inner Socks? Yes, but size carefully. The fur already adds volume — if adding Inner Socks, size up one from the Winter Edition's recommended size down, so you end up at your normal size.
