Fit and sizing

These boots are sized in EU. They fit true to size when worn with a standard wool or liner sock. If you plan to wear them as an inner boot inside overboots, order your regular size — the overboot sizing accounts for the inner boot. For wide feet, size up half a size.

Can these be worn as everyday winter boots? Yes. They are designed as standalone winter boots first. The PTFE membrane and full-grain leather handle rain, slush, and snow well. They are not fashion boots — they are built for functional outdoor use.

What does PTFE membrane mean in practice? PTFE (the same material used in Gore-Tex-category membranes) blocks liquid water from entering while allowing water vapour to escape. Your feet stay dry from the outside in, and sweat can breathe out.

What are the overboots they fit into? These are the intended inner boot for the Military Overboots sold separately on WhatShoes. Together they form a two-layer winter system used by NATO forces in extreme conditions.

Why is a spare sole included? Military boots are expected to be repaired rather than replaced. The spare PU sole means you can resole rather than buy a new pair when the tread wears down.

How do I care for the leather? Apply a quality leather conditioner or wax every few months. The PTFE membrane inside is not affected by surface treatments on the leather upper. Clean mud with a damp cloth before conditioning.
