The boots look great, but the heel of the sole should not wear through to a hole in half a year.

I was looking for footwear that fits a wider foot. I normally buy size 39, but following the guide I ordered a 38 as they run large. No break-in period needed — the shoes were comfortable from the very first wear. Outstanding quality.

Very good boots. The best I've ever owned.

Very comfortable and pleasant. Worn them in all weather through winter into spring.

No-nonsense boots that last a lifetime (okay, at least a couple of years). The leather is thick, and although the soles are a bit slippery when walking on icy sidewalks in winter, they are good for everything else, including hiking.

I bought the pilot boots over a year ago specifically for the zipper. Excellent boots for every occasion. The sole doesn't wear, the leather doesn't wear. They look practically new whenever you give them a quick polish.

Very good boots. True to size, can be worn with thicker socks, haven't caused any blisters, comfortable to put on.

Boots are ok… but I would not mind having hooks on the calf section. It takes too long to lace them up.

Bought them last summer. I broke them in wearing double socks in the summer heat, when the boot wax softens and the leather is more pliable. As others say, the boot has a wider last, and because of my thin calves I wear them with a thick sock — fits perfectly.

The boots are just as beautiful as in the photos. 🙂 They served me well on a long trip to Portugal with lots of uphill and downhill walking. They've also been surprisingly effective on snowy and icy Tallinn streets in winter — not slippery at all.

I strongly recommend trying these on before buying. The boots are beautiful, but the material is very stiff and has rubbed my feet raw even on short walks. I've tried various insoles and socks but haven't found a comfortable solution yet.

I've been wearing my Samelin boots quite a bit, especially when taking my dog Mossu out for our 'skating' sessions on icy streets. I've simply never owned boots with such a good sole. I feel so much more sure-footed — practically no slipping at all.

I've owned these pilot boots for a year now. At first wearing was uncomfortable, but the break-in was absolutely worth the discomfort — the leather has moulded to my foot shape and today these are the most comfortable boots I've ever owned.

For the past 14 autumn-winter-spring seasons I have worn only Samelin military boots. Feet stay dry and warm in every kind of weather — rain, slush, or snow. Started with the M77 but then switched to the pilot boots for the convenience of the zipper. Never going back to anything else.

Ordered as a birthday surprise for my partner. Since it was a surprise I could only go by their other boot size, and in the end we had to exchange them to find the right fit. The exchange was fast and no hassle. Now wearing them happily every day.

Ordered in October and have worn them ever since, in the city and in the countryside. As others have noted, these have a wide last, so ideally try them at the factory store. I sized down and it worked perfectly. Exceptional quality leather.

Only worn them a few days but they are definitely my new favourites! Pleasantly wide — especially good as I'm a woman with wider feet. Maybe I should have ordered a size down, but the extra room works nicely for thicker socks in colder weather.

In the military I saw what a quality boot is capable of. The original army M77 was worn and abused in every imaginable situation. By the end of service the only wear was the tread pattern on the sole. These civilian pilot boots carry that same Samelin quality into everyday life. Worth every cent.

The leather is excellent, the stitching is strong, and the design is very good. I deducted one star because the sole could be better — the black rubber soles leave scuff marks on light-coloured floors.

The M77 adapted for civilian life. I wore the original M77 down in the military. With the M77 the break-in and lacing is always more demanding. These boots are the M77 adapted into a more practical everyday boot — zipper closure, slightly softer construction. Highly recommended.

First, the most important thing – these boots are wide. Choose the size carefully. My feet are 27 cm long, so according to the size chart I should have chosen a 43. Perhaps that would have been right for standard socks, but I wear thick wool socks and a 43 turned out to be just right. The quality of the leather and construction is excellent.

First impression is great. I think I've found a pair of boots I'll be sticking with for a long time.

Very high quality, thick leather. Comes with an extra insole — if one insole leaves a little room you can use the second one for a snugger fit. I'm a size 39 and with the insole and laces done right, the fit is perfect.
